FTA showcasing the very best at CV Show

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) will be showcasing the very best of its services, brand new products, special offers and celebrating its members achievements at the 2015 Commercial Vehicle Show.  The annual event is Britain’s biggest road transport show.

This year the FTA stand will be situated in Hall 4, Stand 4G31 – where visitors will have the opportunity to see a demonstration of Visionfta – FTA’s all-new cloud platform which is set to become the home of all FTA customer solutions.

Buffaload double-deck concept the ideal choice for apetito

apetito, the UK’s leading provider of frozen meals to hospitals, care homes and local authorities, has added a double-deck temperature controlled trailer from Buffaload Logistics to its vehicle fleet.

The company delivers picked frozen food orders from its National Distribution Centre in Royal Portbury Dock in Avonmouth to five Regional Distribution Centres every evening for cross docking and radial distribution to their customers.

Finnair Cargo enters strategic partnership with IAG Cargo

The Nordic region’s largest air cargo carrier, Finnair Cargo, has signed an agreement to participate in the IAG Cargo Partner Plus Programme.  The partnership will allow both carriers to offer customers enhanced network connectivity, as well as the benefits through confirmed bookings and a higher on-load priority.

Pall-Ex celebrates haulage partner’s milestone anniversary

One of Pall-Ex’s member companies has recorded its 40th anniversary.  Besides marking four decades in business, Taylors Transport International of Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, has also clocked up 10 years of international haulage.

To meet increasing demand, the company has recently moved to larger premises which span three acres.  Taylors has experienced significant growth since becoming a member of Pall-Ex in 2013.  The firm currently turns over £600,000 annually through the network, which facilitates contracts in the UK and abroad.

Netto UK awards Bibby Distribution new full food logistics contract

Under a new contract Bibby Distribution is to provide full food logistics services for Netto UK. The 3PL will handle frozen, chilled and ambient food logistics for the discounter, which opened five stores in the North of England last year and plans to open another ten by the end of this year.

Netto returned to the UK last year as a joint venture between its parent company, Dansk Supermarked, and Sainsbury’s.

Potter Logistics celebrates 50 golden years in operation

Derrick Potter, executive chairman of Potter Logistics, started in business during 1965 with one yellow lorry and great ambitions.  Fifty years later, the company operates from eight distribution centres and rail freight terminals and employs more than 300 staff – its trucks make hundreds of deliveries every day.

Record-breaking figures underpin AirBridgeCargo Airlines’ strategic approach

Besides celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2014, AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) also transported a record 401,000 tonnes of cargo, a year on year increase of 17.6% increase.  The carrier’s average load for the period was 72.6%, well above the industry average.

To meet increased demand from international customers, ABC also invested to upgrade its freighter fleet.  In 2014 another new generation Boeing 747-8 freighter joined ABC’s fleet, which now has 13 modern B747 freighters, including six of the new generation 8Fs.
