Palletforce passes another milestone

The UK and Europe's leading freight distribution network, Palletforce, is celebrating another major achievement at its central distribution hub in Burton-upon-Trent.  The handling of its 25 millionth pallet also coincides with the network's 15th anniversary.

Palletforce launched from an aircraft hangar in Lichfield in 2001 and processed 560 pallets on its first night.  Now its state-of-the-art hub, built in 2008, is used by almost 100 members from across the UK.

A second 240,000 sq. ft. unit is due to open in 2017 and will raise daily capacity to 30,000 pallets.  The network also has more than 100 depots and offers a range of services for small consignments of palletised freight, including next day, economy and timed delivery options.

Palletforce’s chief executive officer, Michael Conroy, said: “This is an amazing achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff and members.

“Palletforce was founded on the principles of quality and service and over the last 15 years we have continued to build our reputation through investment in technology and infrastructure.

“With our new ‘SuperHub’ due to come online next year we are looking forward to more record-breaking achievements in the future.”
