Framptons acquisition positions Gregory Distribution for future growth
Gregory Distribution (Holdings) Ltd has acquired Framptons Transport Services Ltd through the purchase of its parent company PF Holdings Ltd. The cost of the transaction has not been disclosed. Baker Tilly and Ashfords LLP advised on the sale.
Based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, Framptons’ annual turnover stands at around £17 million. It employs 245 staff and operates 60 vehicles and its transport services include contract distribution and UK and European pallet delivery. The acquisition includes in excess of 220,000 sq ft of warehouse space in Shepton Mallet.
The acquisition further expands Gregory Distribution’s activities across the West Country, and positions the company for continued future growth. The privately-owned business is also based in the region and operates 22 sites across the UK, having a group turnover of £150 million, 1,600 employees and 550 trucks.
The Frampton business will operate as a stand-alone business unit within the distribution area of the Gregory Group.

Andrew Frampton, for Framptons Transport Services, confirming the sale, said: “Our company’s diversification in recent years from pure haulage into a highly complex warehousing and distribution operation has led to significant growth in both turnover and employment numbers. We hope to expand and improve on our offering to our customers and realise more opportunities.”
