Commercial Vehicle Show records bumper visitor numbers

This year’s Commercial Vehicle Show (CV Show) welcomed 19,807 visitors from across the road transport, fleet and logistics industries, according to ABC audit data – which represents a 5% increase on the previous year’s attendance figure.

The independent appraisal confirmed the popularity of the UK’s leading road transport and logistics event, which took place in April at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham.  The gathering is always one of the highlights of the road haulage calendar.

Analysis of the Show’s registration data also revealed that visitors came to the event from all over the UK and beyond, with a number of highly influential and authoritative figures from within the haulage and logistics sectors among the attendees.

CV Show Director, Rob Skelton, said, “As well as the higher quantity, several exhibitors have reported that there was a better quality of guest attending this year’s Show.  A number of significant deals were completed at the event, and we received positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike.  The higher attendance clearly shows that the CV Show remains the essential event for those involved in the road transport industry.”

As in previous years, the CV Show once again proved to be the meeting place of the industry, with over 450 exhibitors showing their products and services, providing UK operators with far greater choice than at any other UK exhibition serving the commercial vehicle industry.

In addition, several new light commercial vehicles made their public debuts at the Show, including the Citroën Berlingo, Dacia Commercial, Mercedes-Benz Vito, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Corsavan, backed up by the Show being accredited with international status from the automotive industry’s global body, OICA, the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles.

The gathering also saw the biggest ever display of vehicles on the outside display areas, and hosted the finals of the World Crane Championships, sponsored by Hiab.

The organisers of the CV Show have already confirmed the dates for next year’s event, which will again take place at the NEC on 26th-28th April.  Full details for prospective exhibitors will be available after 1st July.  Exhibitor packs will be sent direct and will also be downloadable from the CV Show website: www.cvshow.com
