DSV hosts series of Brexit briefings
With the UK Government unable to reach an agreement with parliament for the withdrawal from the European Union, transport and logistics group DSV is holding a series of Brexit seminars to help its clients prepare for the possibility of a no-deal Brexit.
The free-to-attend briefings are being held in hotels and conference suites throughout the UK. DSV initially planned for them to be hosted in DSV locations, but the response was overwhelming so further planning was needed to accommodate more than 1,000 delegates that signed up to attend.
The seminars are being hosted by experts within the fields of logistics, warehousing, and customs and finance, enabling DSV to provide clients with accurate and up-to-date information on the Brexit process.
DSV said initial preparation was to train all DSV personnel, so that they can understand the situation, support clients through the process and respond to clients’ concerns.
The agenda includes topics such as ‘Where is Brexit today?’ and How will Brexit impact on the supply chain?’
The DSV team also communicate valuable, extensive information on how the transport process will change in the future and what paperwork and customs declarations will be required to trade with the EU in the future.
DSV said the process of moving goods both in to and out of the European Union will change dramatically in the event of a no-deal Brexit, and failure to submit the required paperwork at time of booking could lead to longer lead times.
During the briefings clients are being informed on what DSV is doing to prepare for Brexit and have the opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.
Chris Malyon, Senior Director, DSV Road Ltd, said: “The attendees so far have provided a positive response, thanking DSV for their efforts, appreciating DSV’s understanding of the situation and outlining the future impact for the logistics industry.”
