Geodis enhances US offering with OHL acquisition

Leading European supply chain operator Geodis, which is 100% owned by SNCF Logistics, has agreed to buy OHL (Ozburn-Hessey Logistics) for an undisclosed sum.  The transaction will be financed with available cash resources and through existing and new debt arrangements.

OHL is currently owned by private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) and its annual revenue is reported at €1.2 billion.  The closing of the deal will become effective after completion of the usual regulatory approvals.

As one of the world’s leading 3PL companies, OHL operates more than 120 distribution centres in North America with over 36 million square feet of flexible warehouse space and employs over 8,000 transportation and fulfilment professionals  Its integrated global supply chain management solutions include transportation, warehousing, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, and import and export consulting services.

With revenue amounting to €6.8 billion per annum, more than 120,000 customers and 30,000 employees in a multitude of countries across the globe, Geodis has recently unified its offering under its single name brand.  In time, OHL will also be rebranded as Geodis.
