The Chair of the Association of Freight Software Suppliers (AFSS), Gordon Tutt, is to stand down.
Gordon, who is a regular contributor to Freight Industry Times, announced at a recent AFSS meeting that he is planning to stand down as Chair in April 2019.
AFSS, which was formed in 1993, represents many of the leading suppliers of software to the freight and transportation industry. Its members supply software, hardware, communications and consultancy to companies of all sizes involved in freight and international trade.
AFSS also represents members on the main HMRC Joint Customs Consultative Committee and continues to play an active role in working groups across the freight industry supply chain, including EU trade groups in Brussels.
Gordon (pictured above) said: “Tt has been a real privilege to be Chair of AFSS this last five years and promote the work being undertaken by our member companies. I’ve been extremely grateful for the support given by our membership and colleagues in our industry during my time as Chairman.”
Gordon is currently seeking his successor. The successful candidate should ideally be available from January 2019 for a three-month handover period.
Gordon added: “The candidate should have experience in the freight and logistics industry with an emphasis on the systems and technology used within the industry. Having experience in representing trade at meetings with government bodies and trade organisations would also be an advantage.”
Those wishing to apply or require any information on this position should email Gordon Tutt: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The closing date is 30 November 2018.
