Collett & Sons scoops Road Transport Operator of the Year Award

Heavy lift specialist hailed as ‘best of the best' at Logistics UK’s Annual Awards.

The awards, which were held on 7 December, recognise and celebrate the companies and individuals who have made a significant contribution to the logistics and supply industry over the past 12 months and who excel in their fields.

Collett & Sons Ltd have a wealth of experience transporting difficult and abnormal loads throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide, servicing the power generation, oil and gas, civil and infrastructure, heavy engineering and renewables sectors.

The company recently completed the delivery of 450 wind turbine components to South Kyle Wind Farm in Dumfries & Galloway. Consisting of 68-tonne nacelles, 73-tonne drive trains, 63-tonne hubs, 18-tonne blades and 150 individual tower sections, Collett has handled, transported and delivered all the components necessary to construct the 50 Nordex N133 wind turbines for the wind farm development

Throughout the entire project, Collett provided a dedicated team to successfully handle all aspects of the farm’s construction, from the initial route surveys to the arrival of the components, to final delivery.
